Day 1 starts on Toompea Hill in front of the Tallinn St. Mary’s Cathedral (Dome Church). The cathedral has a sales counter where you can buy pilgrim passports. On Toompea, we pass Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and Toompea Church. The road descends towards the downtown and passes Kaarli Church. Near the Kristiine centre, we find the Allika congregation. The route then passes through Kristiine settlement and goes to the new Mustamäe Mary Magdalene’s Church to be built. It then ascends to the slopes of Mustamäe, giving the last glimpse of Tallinn, and reaches the gates of the Nõmme market and continues along the quiet streets of Nõmme. Church of the Redeemer, Nõmme Baptist Church, Nõmme Peace Church, Nõmme St. John the Baptist’s Church and Adventist Church is on the way. The road runs towards Pääsküla bog. We leave the city along the green corridors: through the Pääsküla bog hiking trail and the Männiku forest, we pass under the Tallinn ring road and reach the small town of Saku.
